Surf the Zulu Nation

Durban and the Dolphin coast is tropical, lush and hot in summer. We surf all round here with the best waves from April to mid July but there is pretty good surf all year around. Other cool things to do are sailing, cultural city tours or a visit to uSkaka marine world.

+Your arrival

If you arrive at King Shaka Airport after 10:30 am in the morning we will recommend that you enjoy an afternoon and evening in a beach house. We will sort this out for you...

iSimangaliso

Isimangaliso Isimangaliso

iSimangaliso

An award winning national park. There are very few places where you can enjoy some big game like Rhino and Elephant and also have a dip in the ocean. Accommodation is either at Cape Vidal in log cabins or St Lucia town.

+Accommodation

Depending on availability and your preferences, you will stay in Cape Vidal or St Lucia. Bring your own food to this stop as it is a self-catering one.

+Safari Skipper Story

On returning from a wedding with my two daughters Polly and Amelia we drove in the Isimangaliso, it is a game drive on its own right with great antelope sightings sometimes Elephant & Rhino. The bird life is also excellent. There is a great swimming beach and as my daughter Amelia dived through the first wave she shrieked with pleasure and said "this is amazing we’ve just been watching a Rhino and now we are swimming in the warm Indian Ocean!" - That is iSimangaliso...

As a family, the Changuions have been visiting Rhino River Lodge for many years and are now great friends with the owners. When developing Let's Roll, we approached Dale, one of the owners, who was happy to be included in this new venture and to provide expert bush knowledge to our travellers.

Ponta Do Ouro

Ponta Do Ouro Ponta Do Ouro

Ponta Do Ouro

The southernmost bay of Mozambique is Ponta Do Ouro. Just north is the next point, "Punto Malengane" Punto has tropical beaches with bars serving drinks straight to your "Gazebo, erected shade area" on the beach. Activities are vast and there are decent restaurants to eat out. Otherwise we will shop in the market and eat at home.

If you are interested in scuba, snorkeling, surfing, swimming and fishing this is a great place to do all of them. Just let reservations know and they will add it on to your itinerary. The pricelist of these activities is here.

+Accommodation

Depending on availability and your preferences you will stay in a self catering beach home in either Ponta do Ouro or Ponta Malengane.

+Safari Skipper Story

The water is warm, the atmosphere tropical with a rural flavour and Southern Mozambique is a very friendly place to visit. The surfing is excellent, the diving / snorkeling has many great reefs is to explore and just driving the sand roads and visiting the different bars and restaurants between Do Ouro and Malengane is just great fun. I personally have sailed past, surfed, dived and partied at Ponta over the years and the only advice I have is just don't go in peak season which is mainly Christmas and Easter because it gets packed. During his period Let’s Roll safaris will be north to more secluded beaches.

The Elephant Reserve

The Elephant Reserve The Elephant Reserve

The Elephant Reserve

The Elephant Reserve is one of southern Africa's up and coming adventure safari destinations. There are good opportunities to see antelope, elephant and hippo in the reserve. Its undiscovered beaches and 4x4 trails are lots of fun.

The Elephant Reserve is also a great place for water sports, which include: scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing and fishing. Your preferences can be discussed when you make your reservation.

+Accommodation

Elephant Reserve Beach Cottage You'll stay in a lovely, modest beach house, just south of Machangulo. A trip to the local market in Ponta do Ouro will provide all your catering needs.

Anvil Bay or Machangulo for 2 nights. Anvil Bay and Machangulo are the ultimate in barefoot luxury. No cooking here, so relax and enjoy this tropical paradise.

+Safari Skipper Story

This place captured my heart from the outset. It is vast and unspoilt. You'll have great fun driving the last 100km of this journey. With a couple of surfing buddies, I met the owners of Anvil Bay, Paul and Ricky. Living the dream, they run this amazing, luxury barefoot camp. It's a no brainer.

Santa Maria

Santa Maria Santa Maria

Santa Maria

Santa Maria is the beach of your dreams. It is surrounded by a massive bay, fringed by mangrove swamps, teeming with birds and marine life. A quick drive over the dunes returns you to the Indian Ocean, where you can surf, fish or chill on the beach.

You'll eat at the lodge or you can cook for yourself in your chalet.

+Accommodation

We've chosen a lodge close to the beach bar and the staff there will help you make the most of your stay. The chalets are self catered, but the guys at the bar are happy to cook your catch of the day or a fish you've bought from the local market.

+Safari Skipper Story

As a passionate sailor, Santa Maria bay has become a favourite place to anchor our yacht every year. The area is simply breathtaking and we love to surf, snorkel, kiteboard or just enjoy nature at its best. It's a great place just to hang out and meet the locals.
